Right, Vinyls. Everyone loves em, Most people want em’
A Stripe vinyl, is by far the easiest to draw (IMO), they can be anything you like, an example is this… (Btw get used to seein the Fto)

You see, stripes are the most basic I can think of. Heres how ya do them.
1.Start off by masking the areas you don’t want to screw
2.Now draw the outline of your stripe, use the line tool if you want more accurate lines.
3.Now fill the shape you’ve created with the same colour, or a different colour. Its all your style, remember.
4.Now step back and look at it, adjust it till you think its perfect
5.That’s it for a stripe

Most vinyls use the same steps, but there might be an exception or two.

Modern

These are slightly harder, as there are more complicated styles. But again, it’s your vinyl style.

You’ll know that one off NFSU1+2. I think its rather kwl, but you all have your own tastes.

1.Start off again, following step 1 above, and then mark out the outline of your vinyl. I can’t really tell you how top outline it, coz it’s your choice lol.
2.in modern’s try to use two colours, it makes it look a lot better, check my Fto if your not sure.
3.Now step back and admire your work

Tear

These are funny, just go mad doing a tear like shape. Do it on a separate layer so that you can keep the car intact. Then colour it in try using different coloured tears building up a layer, this way you can get maximum effect.

Pretty neat eh, and simple. Try and experiment to get better detail, mine are just quick examples.
Follow all the same steps as above for a tear.

These are my favourites, they look the best IMO, using different effects and colours really gives a cool effect to em’

1. Same steps as above up to outline.
2. For the outline decide your colour first. Pick the lightest shade your colour selection will be, then draw your outline, this makes it look nicer.
3.Now fill the lower section of your vinyl in a dark shade of your colour, then increase the lightness as you reach the top of the vinyl, try to match the cars colour shading.
4.Admire it, and then improve it, finally like it. That’s it done.

Advanced tip for all vinyls: try shading it in different light amounts exactly the same as your cars base, this makes it look a lot more realistic, if your not sure, have a look at my R33 Skyline in my sig.

That’s all I know on vinyls of this type, I’m more into custom/unique styles that suite me. Try combining the styles, or come up with your own, the possibilities are endless. Good Luck
