NOTE: Everyone’s will be different depending how many layers you have and what brushes you use. This tutorial will show you how to make a cool abstract/grungy sig.

1)Okay make a new transparent image any size you want, (I’ll be using 450x100)
2)Now whatever colour you want your sig to end up being set the foreground colour to that. I’ll be using blue.
3)Okay, now into the real steps of making the abstract piece. Do a filter>render>clouds and difference clouds, as many times and you want until you like the outcome.
What I have so far.

4)Create a new layer:
Download some brushes if you don’t already have some, preferably download some grungy type brushes.
After you have loaded them etc.. Select a foreground colour that you want to start brushing with,( I chose a dark greyish colour to start with) now select your brush tool and start brushing, don’t brush too densely(spelling??)

After you like what you have done for that layer create a new layer change your foreground colour and start brushing again.

Do this as many times as you wish until you like the outcome. And also each layer you may want to change the layer capacity found in the top right corner of the layers palette, and also change the layer style, which is found in the top left corner of the layers palette.

5)I have 6 layers of brushing all with different capacity and different styles.. You don’t need this, so just experiment with different things. Now grab your eraser tools and a grungy brush and go onto which ever layers you like and start erasing to get more of a grungy feel. Here’s what I have after this step:

6)Now get out your render, and put it on your sig where you want it, then use my blending tutorial which can be found here http://s4.invisionfree.com/Aapje/index.php?showtopic=54
What I have after I blended it.

7)Now if you want you can change the render layer to luminosity so it blendes
In with the bg better. Now I used a colour balance layer and changed it to light blue so everything is the same colour.
8)Now add a border, and your done, your abstract piece :)
Here’s what my final outcome without text or anything else that what I showed you in this tutorial. (please note everyone’s will come out different, some good, some not so good (like mine:P)
