My old friend insomnia has paid me a visit these last couple of nights, so rather than sleeping I've been writing poetry. It isn't particularly good, but I don't usually share my poetry, so be happy what I'm giving you.

My Creature's Name

I often think of Frankenstein,
Another waste of a gifted mind.
Victor lived in constant fear
Of the creature looming near.

My creature has a different name,
And yet it stalks me all the same;
Toys with me like it were a game,
Even when it's feeling tame.

It's getting stronger every day.
I cannot seem to keep it at bay.
It won't come from behind, nor above,
Because my creature's name is love.

HMMMM...I really like it. It didn't end up as I expected (obviously) and I liked the aabb - aaaa - aabb pattern that made it flow quite nice. It's not as long as what I usually prefer to do, but it definitely packs a punch, heh.
