Title: Sora's a POET :D

Sora - August 23, 2005 01:22 AM (GMT)
These were all poems I did this past year for school. Most of them had guidelines and such but, they're just little poems xD

The Media
By Sora

We children sit with open mouths
Our hungry hands need feeding
Our bodies are hideous and dirty
Like the bread they pour into our stomachs

But this filth is so sweet
I hang my mouth open in greed
It’s like a drug
The high is never enough

How can this poison be so delicious
Why do I need these spoiled possessions
When I devour the acid, I feel it smother me
But I drink until it hurts my eyes to see the mirror

Everything I am is wrong, every step I take is imperfection
And soon I will die because I am tainted
Surreal, the images are, like lies that sleep unseen
These images that suck my soul up through media

The Media

Sora
By: Sora

It occurred to Sora, after much thought mind you,
that if she were a fruit, she’d
Be a bundle of grapes
Not your green, newborn,
Unripe, discontent grapes, or your

too rip with rot, sagging, or
trampled grapes, she’d be
Your elegant purple
rich with potential
luscious on the vines, grapes

So many choices,
sticky jam for toasted bread,
sweet finger-popping pastries,
dried out in the sun for raisins,
but, most favored for her

captivating, enchanting wine,
which fills the bellies
of eager folk, to give them
joy, and burry them happily
in their graves, oh yes

pretty poison purple
Vast in fields waiting
on her vines, singing
in the beauty of night, dancing
in the wicked heat of day

She comes in bottles,
in boxes, in glass containers,
She is smashed into liquid
dried out and burned by the sun and
smeared on delightful breakfast breads

but always having
that same rich with potential
and luscious purple taste
Smiling from her fields,
or glass prison or possessors grave

which, mind you, as things were, wasn’t so easy.

I am Beautiful
By: Sora

I am a song, waiting to sing
I’m amazed at the smallest of things
I speak in times that make me bold
I hold myself, when I have only myself to hold
Oh, I Am Beautiful

I love the feeling of being high
By running so far my heart and lungs cry
I love the way my body dives steep
When my back arches high, into water so deep
Oh, I Am Beautiful

My life is a drama, come watch my play
The world is my backyard, my backyard, a stage
The crowd goes wild, they howl with all their might
Because they know someday they’ll see my name up in lights
Oh, I Am Beautiful

I’m afraid of not living, to perish, to die
But I’ve died many deaths, I’ve lived many lives
My body is just a container for my soul
Raise the lid off my cage and out my spirit goes
Oh, I Am Beautiful

My skin is not my soul, you see
My soul is what is under me
And if you lift my olive hide
You’ll find the girl that lives inside
Oh, I Am Beautiful

Wow, great stuff!

I think my favorite is Sora. Not because it's structurally better or anything, I just really love grapes.

I think I Am Beautiful sounds the best, but I like The Media for its message.

Honestly, I love all of them. Hope to see more like these in the future!

I like the last two a lot. :B ~<33

They're all good ^_^.

Although "I Am Beautiful" sounds a bit too much like poem written strictly for a homework assignment, it was still well written.

Awesome job. Keep it up.

It was written strictly for a homework assignment :3 HA! Thanks guys.

You should try writing poetry on your own then. I think there would definitely be some potential there.
