I haven't posted any type of literary work here for a while, so I figured I'd post this song I wrote about 5 hours ago. Enjoy it and tell me what you think! Thanks!
Mercurial Obsession
By Garrett Luttrell
Swimming through encompassing waves
Always a routine, submerged in mordant disdain
It’s a darkening night and dawn isn’t approaching
The tide’s coming in
It’s time to take flight
To soar up and escape
This change
From above the panorama is so clear
Completely engrossed in the floating body
Detached from the soul
Absorbed with the subtleties
Protecting nothing
And the eagle swoops down
Claws sinking into the flesh
And there’s nothing to do
But to drift along
And take the rest
The tide’s coming in
It’s time to take flight
To soar up and escape
This change that’s unwelcome
This inevitable shift
Appearing to be a dreamlike progression
Obsessing over the delicacies
Forgetting something
It’s uncanny how something so strong
Could be so flimsy
Bending over to take a drink
From the tide
That will change
Everything
Appearing to be a dreamlike progression
Obsessing over the delicacies
Forgetting something
It's really beautiful! I lurve it! What kind of a song is it?
Beautiful imagery! It sounds to me like a rather slow-paced, dreamy song.
It's meant to be symphonic power metal. Similar to Nightwish or Symphony X.
Anyhow, thanks for the comments guys! Was waiting for someone to reply. XD
