Title: Oh I See (-poem-)
Description: Unorthodox Garrett Luttrell writing.

sephyr - March 29, 2006 04:09 AM (GMT)
I wrote up a poem/prose thing tonight, just experimenting around and all, and so I decided I might as well post it here, even if not many eyes are laid upon it. Whoever does read it though, please leave commentation of any sort. Thanks!

Oh I See
By Garrett Luttrell

Oh I see the dwindling twilight
Reflected in your eyes, condemning me
To an eternal lifetime
Fading in and out of daydream
Oh yes, feathered merchant
Of my hysteria, I deem you unworthy
A listless soul wandering the plains
Of pointlessly subtle tragedies
Nose pressed forever against the windowpane
Of my archaic demise

Flirting with psychotic hypnosis
These wounds that fester and seeth
With a brilliance of wanton psychosis
Added to my big, bold list of parodies

Oh I see the irony in existence
The hopelessness of religion
The bickering of all the random politics
I spy a predicament long avoided
The white hand procrastinating
With an illusionary wall of choices
This petty trickery fools me not
Won't bother trying to cure the illness I've got
What with all the temporary fixes
To keep my feeble mind conflicting
Between each thought

Some vain people will never die
Their gospels dwell amongst us
Some fallacies never fade
That kind of stuff keeps us entertained

This could be just a nihilistic attempt
To make old men chuckle a bit
The way we turn away unwanted presents
The way our teeth grit
When our ego is assaulted once again

Oh I see the comedy in your breathing
Your steps taken, your decisions
The amusement of your paradigm
Of alienated children commiting futile crimes
Of world-ending prophecies
Horrific conspiracy, yes your neighbor
Is your enemy
This kind of stuff is sold on the streets

I like it a lot, and I'm really glad to see you back to writing poetry here. I loved the lines "This could be just a nihilistic attempt | To make old men chuckle a bit." Once the new forum is up, you should repost this along with your older favorites from the Gate there.

By the way, will any of the posts be saved from AG? Because like, there are many of my old poems that now only exist on the boards of AG and yeah.

I suggest looking through them and backing them up just in case.

Hmmm ... well actually, I think I might just let them die alongside the first layer of AG.

A new beginning, right?

hehe if you say so. I can't stand letting anything I make and like fall into obscurity. (even if it does anyway >.>)

The Gate will be read-only once the new forum opens.

That's why the Editting feature comes in handy. No one else but the author would need to copy the work anyway.
