Title: How much are these worth?
AlGiordino - November 17, 2004 06:45 PM (GMT)
Hear me Cusslerfans, Im going to make a speech/presentation of Cussler in school, and I was thinking about taking some of my Cussler-books with me. So I'm asking how much are these worth and is it wise to take them with me?
- Raise the titanic!
(finnish edition, paperback, 1987, in good shape)
- Raise the titanic!
(1st US Edition 1st Print, hardcover, dustjacket, 1976, in very good shape (thanks for that one Tony aka DirkPitt))
- Sahara
(1st US Edition 1st Print, hardcover, dustjacket, in very good shape (thanks for this one Dave aka Cusslermen))
Please, judge me!

In would stick with taking the paperback. Whenever I had to bring old expensive books to school I would put them in a ziplock bag and wrap them in towels. Let me know if you want some to take I have those in Hardback and they aren't 1st. editions and you can borrow them if you need to.

if your worried about any harm occuring to your books then just pick up current PB copies of the book but judging that you have several copies of the book i'm lost as to what the subject would be?

EoI71: Incase you live in Oulu, Finland, we can scrap the loaning idea
Rudi_Gunn: Yeah, I will take the "not so valuable" paperbacks with me and just say that I didn't want to risk the valuable books
thanks for help guys and gals, and wish me luck! w:

You'll do great!! I don't live in Finland but since I didn't know when you had to do the report, the post office is right down the street from my house, Julie :)

I hate speechs!!!
I used to hate it when I recieved an award for football as you had to make a speech after excepting it I sweat like I was in a sauna!!
I can even remember a high school teacher asking me to stand up and do an presentation for the class in high school.
I refused and he failed me LOL
It amazing how you can stand around in a group and happily talk about any number of subjects......... yet you put a microphone in front of a person or stand them up the front of a room and the nerves kick in..
I'm sure you'll be fine no one can be as bad as me.
:)
Outback Brock - November 19, 2004 06:39 AM (GMT)
Oh yeah and best of luck it will work out fine.......... :)
AlGiordino - November 19, 2004 05:00 PM (GMT)
Phew... I did it!
The "rules" of the speech were:
Must be 10 minutes or more long
Tell stuff by your own words, try not to use the help-word list
Remeber the eye contact
My speech lasted 12 minutes, I didn't look at the help paper much and I watched the crowd, woohoo! p: p:
I was supposed to show a clip of Raise The TItanic but there was no dvd-played in the class we were <_<

CONGRATULATIONS!
I'm sure you did a fine job.
Cheers,
