I do not know if this fits here but this is the story

In the Mid 80's i had this friend who ask me to find this grave site. during the early days of WW2, her father was one of the persons building a airfield near where we lived. this was for the training of pilots

Well, he told her that they came across this grave site during the building of the site, but at the time of the mid 80's, he was no longer able to remember much so she ask me to see what happen to it

I thought it would take a couple of weeks, but it took 5 years to get the answer. Some of the answers I got was that it was moved. I ask where, got an answer and went there. It was not there. Others said there was never any there.

Then another said it was covered over during the building of the site.
I talked to those who were old enough to remember that time, so 5 years after I
started the search, I was in my local historical society there happen to be a person there whose family at one time owned the land and she said that it was covered which she thought it was very sad that some of her ancestors are now under an airport.

My hat is off to you for finding out the truth after so many years. I too recently searched for my ancestor's grave sites and found them in disarray with the headstones kicked over and broken amongst tall grass in an vacant block. I can see how easily a building site can be constructed over old graves that have been forgotten.
