Author Clive Cussler will visit high school

School officials say they hope Cussler's visit, with his son and co-author, Dirk Cussler, inspires students to improve their writing.
How did a high school get Cussler, who has sold more than 125 million copies of his books, to pay a visit?
"Being in the right place at the right time -- and having the audacity to ask the question," said Carol Mackey, Mountain View's librarian. Cussler had scheduled a Sunday appearance at Barnes & Noble in Vancouver, and Mackey asked the bookstore's publicist to invite Cussler to the high school.
The program, at 10 a.m. in the school's library, 1500 S.E. Blairmont Drive, is open to the public.
