I bet Clive would like to seek out that plane wreck. I think it was Amelia Earhart that Clive based the character, Kitty Mannock on in Sahara. But as he has found out searching for the White Bird in Maine, plane wrecks arn't easily discovered.
Although I would love to see this mystery cleared up and the plane found given the size of the search area, the water depths, and the elapsed time this project is next to impossible. That being said I like long odds. If any identifiable piece of the plane is ever found I will be the first in line to say I was wrong.
If anyone recalls Congressman Hale Boggs of Louisiana disappeared over Alaska in a small plane back in 1971. I read Lindy Boggs' autobiography some time back and always enjoy seeing their daughter Cokie Roberts on TV talking about her family or just talking about news and politics. A most fascinating family. When I went to New Orleans back in 2002 My wife and I rode up to Alexandria and went through New Roads Where the Boggs home is but did not have the time to look for it because we were on our way to meet a friend at a casino in Alexandria. I would love to go back to New Roads and find where Cokie Roberts grew up. w: b:
