Thought I would share a funny with ya'll this morning. My kids are watching The Tournament of Roses Parade right now and the President of the parade just drove by in a 1937 Packard. I started to explain to my 6 yr old son that his great grandfather used to have two of those cars, and he started yelling excitedly "Noooo, momma! The mans on the book drives that car! He does, he does!" I asked him what he was talking about and he said "Mommmmmaaaaaa, the mans on your book! Look!" So he runs over to my book case and flings the doors open and points to my Cussler books and says "Isn't that the coolest momma, they're really real [the cars]."

I couldn't believe he picked up on something like that. A long time ago I remember picking up a Cussler book in Costco and Jake saw Clive's picture on the back and asked who he was. I told him that was my favorite author and the person I went to meet in the snow storm in St. Louis last year (Trojan Odyssey tour). He never mentioned a word about Clive standing by the car.

Great story-children see far more than we know. det:
