January 11, 2005 - Actor Matthew McConaughey, last seen on the big screen in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, has signed on to his next film project, Failure to Launch.
According to today's edition of the Hollywood Reporter, McConaughey will star in the comedy as a thirtysomething guy whose parents trick him into meeting the love of his life in a bid to get him to finally move out of the house. Ah, the story of our lives here at IGN.
Tom Dey (Shanghai Noon) will direct the Paramount Pictures flick, which was acquired as a spec script by Tom Astle and Matt Ember.
Failure to Launch is due to start shooting this October.
McConaughey next stars in Sahara, an adaptation of the Clive Cussler novel. He plays action hero Dirk Pitt. That film hits screens in March.
