Title: New NUMA Merchandise!
Description: Your ideas count....

NUMA_Diver - March 11, 2004 03:56 PM (GMT)
Okay folks..good news. I have been asked to get some ideas from you, the fans.

We need to come up with some design ideas for a NUMA coffee cup that will be available for purchase in the near future from NUMA.net.

I will take your ideas and let you vote on them in the form of a poll. I will then take the top four ideas and forward them to the merchandise dept at NUMA.

I look at this as a great opportunity. Maybe we will be asked to come up with more ideas in the future.

Just for the record....I would like to see the NUMA patch logo on one side of the cup and NUMA in yellow block letters with a black outline on the other...

Take care
Mike

:D How about a driver's side (front window dash) NUMA decal. Small decals for "superlite 17 T" dive hats and bail out bottles.
Could always use some NUMA advertisments on the Bell Systems offshore!! I'm all for the NUMA patch logo on coffee cups..

NUMA_Diver - March 12, 2004 03:44 AM (GMT)
Good news Loren, The stickers have already been discussed, and as of earlier this week....they are in the works.

With the NUMA logo's on it I'd like to see a "stainless steel" type cup, with screw-on lid, the kind you'd take with you when you drive to work in the morning.

jet_doctor - March 13, 2004 10:42 PM (GMT)
Good idea Dave, I like that one too. That is something I would use for sure.

How about a "huggie". I think that is what they're called. They are what you would put a can of soda or beer in to keep it cold. People use those all the time and they would give NUMA a lot of exposure.

Dave from California - March 14, 2004 02:19 AM (GMT)
The coffee cup is a great idea because almost everyone I know has some kind of coffee cup with some kind of logo on their desk-top. It would be a great way to spread the word. As far as color, it almost has to be turquoise, doesn't it? With big bold NUMA letters on one side and the logo on the other. Sign me up, I'm ready to buy! B)

mcclure - March 14, 2004 06:45 AM (GMT)
The cup is a great idea. having the logo on one side is a must. How about the face of Dirk or some other Character on the other side.

Any chance of some NUMA merchandise in the UK?

boissee - March 18, 2004 12:21 AM (GMT)
The travel mug w/ NUMA logo would be perfect for a coffee fiend like me, also some kind of tote or knapsack with the NUMA patch on it. I love bags!

DirkPitt - March 18, 2004 05:06 AM (GMT)
NUMA_Diver,

I like your idea for the design. How about that on a dark blue coffee mug ?

Cheers

tonym5 - March 22, 2004 07:46 AM (GMT)
mugs, magnets, t-shirts, pens, numa patches, book cover patches, etc..... are great ideas to merchandise the growing cussler mania!

hiramyaegar - March 25, 2004 08:23 PM (GMT)
This doesn't exactly pertain to NUMA merchandise, but I'm a Boy Scout, and just reached the rank of Life (right before Eagle). To reach Eagle you have to do a big service project. I was thinking of doing something for NUMA. Suggestions?

Rocket - March 26, 2004 08:36 PM (GMT)
How about a hat with NUMA in a semi circle at the top and a submersible below it or with any of the different types of equipment used in their pursuits to include replicas of Dirk's collections in his hangar that have been used in his adventures

NUMA_Diver - March 26, 2004 09:22 PM (GMT)
I love all of the non-coffee cup ideas....but at this time I can only use "coffee cup" design ideas.
Thanks
Mike

I believe that perhaps a quote from CC on the mug would be a good Idea.
Or you could use a line from his book either from Dirk or Al. As far as a picture goes I would like to see one of the pictures that are with the books. I believe that this would truly capture the spirit of not only NUMA but as well as CC writing. :D

DirkPitt - March 27, 2004 01:07 PM (GMT)

Great idea, Pastor Paul !

A classic Clive Cussler one-liner scrawled on the mug.

Cheers :)

jet_doctor - March 29, 2004 04:26 AM (GMT)
How about his "Get it Up!" quote that he signs in books with regard to "Raise the Titanic"?

rudi gunn - April 3, 2004 04:28 AM (GMT)
i like the stainless coffee mug idea (20 oz) i like coffee!----i think maybe the NUMA logo in gold on one side and a quote from Clive and a signature on the other burned in with a laser--the same gold emblem could be embossed on a black ceramic mug also---what about numbered limited edition mugs based on the book artwork ??---or limited edition coins also based on the book artwork---we could have US and UK versions---WOW !!!

rowan - May 8, 2004 05:42 AM (GMT)
The company I work for had a coffee mug design with every office worldwide on it
and the corporate logo in the center. This was a great looking mug and I thought all the shipwrecks found or all the books written by Mr. Cussler would look good on a mug. Also a small band at the top with the word NUMA all around it. We are also getting caps with our company name written at thefront of the bill in small letters and they look great. A similar idea with NUMA caps would certainly perk my interest.

also some kind of tote or knapsack with the NUMA patch on it.

I like that idea. We travel a lot and go to lots of events where a backpack makes it easier to carry stuff around.

Tallyfins - May 25, 2004 05:52 PM (GMT)
I have a question regarding T-shirts on the NUMA site and maybe someone here can help answer my question since I didn't get a response from anyone at NUMA.

On the main NUMA page www.numa.net, there is the link for the "shop" www.numa.net/shop and there are 3 pics contained within that link. The left picture is of a shirt with the letters NUMA and a diver, XXL, and "Special Projects Dive Team", but once you go in there, no such shirt exists to purchase. There are a couple of NUMA shirts (black and grey?) and a couple of Hunley shirts, but they are not the same as the one on the previous page contained within that link. Does anyone know if those are in fact still for sale? I want one! :)

Thanks in advance, Tim

robpgreer - May 25, 2004 06:12 PM (GMT)
I hadn't updated the home page link to the Shop area since the re-design. I've done so now. The products currently in the Shop area of NUMA (http://www.numa.net/shop/) are all that are available.

Tallyfins - May 26, 2004 03:31 AM (GMT)
OK- thanks Rob. I would certainly like to have one of those if they ever come available again.

Tim

How about a book bag with NUMA logo or Cussler quote or pic!

quetico1 - August 28, 2004 05:37 PM (GMT)
how about NUMA bumper stickers or licence plate holders with diferent famous dirk sayings or numa logos..also i was thinking a book colage poster with all the first print novel covers on it...also what if they put out a kids and adult line of numa logo dive masks and snorkels and flippers ...

loren1 - September 17, 2004 12:08 PM (GMT)
some great ideas. The Numa colors are a must. A traverl mug would be perfect for me and a regular cup for home. What better way to get other people to know about Dr. Cussler. I can't wait to see them. th:

mattgarrett - October 10, 2004 05:18 PM (GMT)
Well, I think we should have a design that incorporates the NUMA logo as it appears in the BOOKS. Turquoise color, etc. Then, a NUMA mug which has the actual NUMA logo.

And the words: vinni, viddi, vicci on the other side.

Tommy - October 10, 2004 06:20 PM (GMT)
Just another thought on the coffee mug idea, how about a world map with a star or something indicating every shipwreck site that NUMA has surveyed? w:

th: Nice idea.

How about a backpack? The NUMA line of SCUBA gear?

tonym5 - October 10, 2004 11:32 PM (GMT)
 Merchandising NUMA is a sure fire money maker with all the ideas flowing here!!!!

Giordino13 - March 19, 2005 05:09 PM (GMT)
I like Pastor Paul's idea th: th:

dirkP - May 17, 2005 01:56 AM (GMT)
I think a cool idea would be a keychain. Not a plastic one, but a metal one with the NUMA logo. Ive personally wanted one so why not share.

Great Idea Ben th:

I'd go for one for sure.

Beccaboo - May 20, 2005 09:32 PM (GMT)
snor: Better get my Credit Card warmed up. When can we expect to maybe see some of this stuff for sale? snor:

loren1 - May 29, 2005 10:17 PM (GMT)
Mine is all paid up so I'm ready. Let's rock.

numa77 - February 2, 2006 10:25 PM (GMT)
How about a simple pocket knife (the kind with two blades and a flathead screwdriver). perhaps dark blue or black with the NUMA logo on it?

dirkP - March 8, 2006 09:23 PM (GMT)
How about a key chain with the NUMA logo on it. Everyone whether they drive or not have keys to something. It could be a circular metal key chain.

sharkluver22 - March 9, 2006 12:50 PM (GMT)
I'm all about a line of SCUBA gear! I would buy it in a heartbeat! Oh...I'm so excited and it will probably never happen! But that would be amazing if it did! I would love a key chain and all sorts of coffee and travel mugs...

Dear_Heart05 - March 10, 2006 12:24 AM (GMT)
Man, if all these things were so....I would be a total NUMA slut! ;)
