Well, it looks like I have plans for March 30th now!!!!!!!! Then again, I would have been mad had he not come through his hometown, which just happens to be mine!!!!!!!

hiramyaegar - February 20, 2005 12:59 PM (GMT)
He's gonna be at the Daytona 500 today? Dang, my dad is lucky. He's over there working at the race and might get a chance to see him. Unfortunately, the place where the Braves train is on the other side of Orlando. :(

Got a buddy down there who has picked up some of the promotional goodies ( hats and Tee-shirts) for me. He's also taken some pictures of the Airstream. So far he's missed Matthew who has been there in Daytona since Friday. Hopefully he'll be able to get an autograph for me before he leaves after the big race today!! JimO

Hey,

How do I get tickets to the April 4 premiere? or any of the events along the tour?

Is Clive going? Is he boycotting the premiere? Will he "raffle" off his tickets?

My dad just got back from working at the race, and told me about MM. Apparently, there were loads of Sahara trailers showing on the TV. While fulfilling his role as Grand Marshal, MM apparently didn't articulate himself too well. He had a bit of a Texas twang... :P Dad says his PR people must be screaming at him - he's in front of 250,000 people, with another 25 million plus watching on TV and he's talking in a crappy Texas twang...

Crappy Texas Twang????? Glad to see that someone knows the difference between Great Texas Twang and Crappy Texas Twang, because I don't, could you explain it to me

Thanks, A fellow twangy Texan :)

It seems like MM is going to be doing a lot of promotion. Does anyone think this might be overkill? I really hope he won't wear that "Sahara" shirt and hat all the time -- he's worn it two days in a row, and it seems like this may be a pattern. They are really bothering me. It feels desperate and seems a bit like shameless self-promotion. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hmm, couldn't he have stopped chewing that toothpick for two minutes?? Some cool new footage from the film though, that's a bonus. I still wish they'd stop referring to DP as a treasure hunter though, grr. As long as it sells the movie though I guess. Keep those updates coming! Thanks! th:

There are more of Matthew McConaughey's "Sahara" Journals at MTV.

It's quite a different way of promotion, and I like it! But it must feel weird to talk about a desert movie in 6 inches of snow. :P

Funny story about the paparazzi who didn't hide so well... th: th:

Has anyone found any photos/stories from the SAHARA screening at Andrews AFB on Sunday? I've been able to keep up with his tour so far...but this stop eludes me. <_<
