Title: Outside Magazine
Description: More tuff you've heard before

The March 2005 issue of Outside Magazine features a dispatch about Sahara with comments from Clive. It's nothing you haven't seen before; the tone of the article is consistent with everything else you've read about his feelings on the movie and how they threw the book out. He does say some polite thing about Matthew McConaughey as Dirk.

What stood out to me was the fact that the article appears opposite a scathing (and in my opinion well deserved) review of Michael Crichton's new book. There's a subtle counterpoint going on; Sahara is about an effort to address an environmental crisis that leads to adventure, while State of Fear is an adventure about a crisis manufactured by environmentalists. I hope the other readers of Outside see the contrast as well, and take an interest in Cussler's work.

The article alone is not reason enough to go out and buy Outside, but I've been a fan of the magazine for years and would unhesitatingly recommend it. The cover photo ain't bad either. ;)
