Rainn Wilson has joined the cast of the feature "Sahara" for director Breck Eisner. The film centers on the efforts of Dirk Pitt (Matthew McConaughey) and his team of explorers to thwart an environmental catastrophe. Wilson will play the team's tech expert. Wilson recently landed one of the leads in NBC's comedy pilot "The Office," based on the acclaimed BBC series. He will next be seen on HBO's "Six Feet Under," where he will reprise his role as the mortuary intern, and in Mario Van Peebles' upcoming "Baadasssss!" Wilson is repped by Endeavor and 3 Arts Entertainment.

Great work, sherlockfan.

I also noticed this paragraph in your link ;

"Glynn Turman is saddling up his camel for "Sahara," being directed by Breck Eisner for Paramount Pictures. Turman will play one of the head doctors for the World Health Organization and a mentor to the heroine who is trying to control a deadly plague. Turman, who can been on "Resurrection Blvd.," is best known for his work on television's "A Different World." Other credits include "Gremlins" and "Men of Honor." He is repped by Elkins Entertainment. 1000454883"

So would that be refering to Dr. Hopper? Interesting casting choice. As I recall, Hopper was a (fellow) Canadian...

I am glad that they found a great actor to play Dirk. The original actor who played Dirk in "Raise the Titanic" as you may or may not know was Richard Jordan who passed away a few years ago due to brain cancer. I hope that they keep to the more to the book than they did with Raise the Titanic.

What has anyone heard in regards to new book by Clive?
