Title: Acquisition of Dodd Mead Iceberg
Description: had to share my joy

Hey All
I havent posted in a while here, in fact its been damn near 8 months or so. But I've been keeping up to date on all the great info this site provides. Have to give a shout out to Tony and the team for making this site so indispensible. Just ordered my copy of the Clive Cussler Code, cant wait for that to drop in my mailbox. And I also cant wait for Sahara to come out April 8(the day after my 22nd birthday what a present that'll be!) Just finished Lost City, and I'm a quarter of the way through Black Wind. Anyway onto more topical matters...
So I went to this used book sale at the local library the other day, and luckily i decided to get up early for it to see if I could get anything good. So I'm looking through the books not seeing anything interesting when I find at the bottom of a box a fairly nice copy of the Dodd Mead Iceberg. You can imagine my excitement, I felt like King Arthur and I had just found the Holy Grail. So I could barely contain myself as I was paying for it, I wanted to get it and get out of there in case anyone had realized they'd made a huge mistake, which no one probably would unless they were Clive fans. Oh and did I mention the best part? I got it for a buck! A lousy Washington! I think I'm still riding off my high of finding it. Anyway its in pretty good condition with about a half inch rip in the jacket at the top where the binding is, but the binding itself is firm and square. I now have every hardcover 1st american edition of Clive's except Vixen03(and thats just b/c of laziness)Anyway, Ijust had to tell somebody, since my gilrfriend of 2 years says if she hears the words Cive or Dirk again she'll be walking out the door. HA!and i'll be saying 'here's to adventure' holding my beer up as she leaves. beer:

I can beat the price with the Inca Gold I recently bought in a group of books 3 for a dollar, but I certainly can't beat the rarity. Lucky you!

I know how you feel householdrob about finding that rare item at a library book sale where you can buy books cheap or at book fairs. It takes me on average just over four hours to scour a book sale including the boxes beneath the tables. But it's so worth the time. Luckily the dayton library holds two book sales a year here and there's the planned parenthood book fair that has over 100,000 books and I also go to the tipp city and troy book sales in Miami County. w:

Hey guys,
Just bought a digital camera and I thought what better way to test it out than share pics of my Dodd Mead. Its not in the greatest of shape but who cares!? Its worth more than a buck! Might as well show a pic of my Cussler collection while I'm at it. Enjoy...

You can see the rip on the spine, need to get some Mylar to cover this thing pronto. It feels like its deteriorating as a type!

Thats actually a rare board color on that Dodd Mead. They were all published with blue boards, but some libraries rebound their copies.
