PHOENIX—As every Dirk Pitt ® fan can tell you, the beloved character never begins an adventure without his orange-faced DOXA dive watch. Now fans of the books and the upcoming movie, SAHARA ®, can take a step in Dirk’s shoes or at least his watch. DOXA Watches LTD, the traditional high end Swiss watch manufacturer, will give away 20 of their new Special Edition Dirk Pitt ® orange-faced dive watches, valued at $1249 USD each, to fans at SAHARA© events throughout North America. Before Matthew McConaughey was cast as hero Dirk Pitt® in the movie SAHARA©, (premiering April 8th nation-wide) internationally syndicated columnist Liz Smith asked in her column “Who will wear the orange faced DOXA?” As soon as the announcement was made, DOXA presented the athletic actor with a genuine DOXA just like the one Dirk Pitt ® wears in all his adventures. Paramount Pictures and Bristol Bay Productions present in association with Baldwin Entertainment Group, a j.k. livin production, a Kanzaman production, “Sahara.” Breck Eisner directs. The screenplay is by Thomas Dean Donnelly & Joshua Oppenheimer and John C. Richards and James V. Hart, based on the novel by Clive Cussler. The action-adventure is produced by Howard Baldwin, Karen Baldwin, Mace Neufeld and Stephanie Austin. Matthew McConaughey, Gus Gustawes, William J. Immerman, and Vicki Dee Rock are the executive producers.
