I recently came to the decision that I am going to take a break from writing Rio Grande. I have an excellent idea for the Literary Idol Competition and I would like to submit my entry for it before the closing date.
Unfortunately I cannot submit Rio Grande because of the characters, however I believe the story that I have already mapped out will be great.
I will finish Rio Grande, there is not a doubt in my mind about that, but in order to submit my entry for the competition I am going to have to put it off for a while.
I will be posting some information about the plotline of the new story soon.

I'm not sure that I can finish the story under 10,000 words, however I do not think it would be fair to leave people hanging like I'm doing right now with Rio Grande! So if I can finish it I will.
The story will be more of a mystery / sci-fi genre. It involves one of the great mysteries of the past and this mystery has yet to be solved. I will post more after I am farther into the process of writing the story. hat:

Is Lit. Idol still going? I've been watching the site and seen no movement. I'd say make sure the contest is still alive before you launch into a new idea.
