Title: Sahara Clips to be shown
Description: USA Channel, Monday, Mar. 21
jet_doctor - March 19, 2005 03:40 PM (GMT)
My husband came home from work last night and said one of the guys who is a Dirk Pitt fan said that this Monday, March 21 they will be showing either clips or out-takes of the Sahara movie during the airing of "Raiders of the Lost Ark," at 9:00 p.m. on cable channel's USA Network for their "Action Monday."
I went to the USA Ch. website and saw "Raiders" was listed, but it didn't show anything about Sahara. They must be advertising it during commercials. If I see anymore details, I'll post them here. Also, the website didn't say whether the time is 9 p.m. EST or CST. Check your local listings for that.

I found out the following from someone else who saw the promo for Monday night. It seems that Matt McConaughey, Penelope and Steve Zahn are supposed to be hosting "Action Monday" and there will be lot's of clips and outtakes throughout the showing of the "Raiders" movie. Definitely sounds like something ya'll might want to pull out the old VCR for.

Anyone got a spare VCR so little ol me can take a look?

I'm sure clips will make their way onto the forum at some point, Kel. Good luck!

I'll have to dust off the old VCR and see if it works anymore. Now that I think about it I dont know if I have any VHS tapes laying around.
Once again, this is just another thread leading to the connection between Indiana Jones and Sahara, which I think their pushing a bit too much. Thing about it is they'll have to live up to the comparison, and after reading the script, although it seems entertaining, I dont see it as living up to that kind of hype. If it had been written with the original ending intact that might be a different story.

It starts 8:00 p.m. CST - 9:00 p.m. EST

Just saw it not even 5 minute ago and i have 1 question:
MM said Dirk Pitt believes in magic?
other than that I have seen new clips in it and i think that this should be funny.
They showed the boat scene, obviously changed, and MM was on the back of a boat with armed malians (I assume) on it and Al and Ruddi were in the boat next to them.
When MM jumped over Al said jump to the front of the boat.
I don't think they're hosting Action Monday but I could be wrong...

I had forgotten what a great movie Raiders of the Lost Ark was...I also remembered reading somewhere that when Clive saw it on the big screen he told somebody that that was how he had envisioned 'Raise the Titanic'.
Like Mandasy said there were a few new shots but not really any new scenes, they basically just showed longer footage of what we've already seen. From what I saw they only played two 1 minute long segments during the commercials, and nobody hosted it but I could be wrong because I didn't tune in until about 9:05 so there could have been something at the beginning. And my eyebrow also raised when they said Dirk believed in magic, but it could have been taken out of context. Maybe they meant He believes there is magic in the hunt, on a search for something that is lost...who knows, maybe we'll find out on DVD.
