I just finished watching The Manchurian Candidate (with Denzel Washington) and I could help but notice the similarities between it and Deep Six. I mean the whole mind control routine, a sleeper president... Maybe its just me. What do you think??
I just finished watching it too. It does have similarities with Deep Six, but since the original Manchurian Candidate was made into a movie in 1962 from the 1959 Richard Condon novel, it may have inspired Cussler to loosely base the Deep Six plot on it.
What? You didn't watch the original movie? or read the book? As for mind control the CIA tried experiments on that back in the 60s but we don't know how far they got! p:

Haven't seen or read the originals I either.
