question- first off, should i read the books in the order that they were written?
if so- should i start with meddeteranian caper or pacific vortex- i have heard that PV was written first, but caper was published first.

The below link with take you to a thread that has pros and cons for reading the books in and out of order from some of the forum member.
However if you are reading them in order then I would recommend reading Pacific Vortex first th: No matter what you decide you'll enjoy them that's for sure ;)
