Interesting how Titanic has made more money than any of them, yet opened with about 28 million and is in 155th place.

Also let's not forget how a movie can have a good opening weekend then tank on word of mouth.

Actually, the reviews seem pretty split -- 1/2 like, 1/2 don't. And the 1/2 that don't more/less say it was mediocre and not worth it -- they don't say it's horrendous. Anyway, all Cussler fans need to go out and see it if we want more films.

The critics are really giving it poor ratings, but they did that with National Treasure too, and I really enjoyed it.

Sahara took 18.5 million

Distributor Paramount had expected the movie to debut in the $15 million range, said Wayne Lewellen, head of distribution.

"This is a good, solid opening I think for this film," Lewellen said. "It played well particularly in the middle of the country, which always bodes well for it holding up.
