Well i have just seen one of the advance screenings here in the UK. Great film although a little too hollywood at parts. For those who haven't seen it obviously alot as i write this,7/4/05, i won't spoil the surprises too much.
I thought the film was quite well filled out with not too many slow parts where some would lose interest. If all us fans are honest i think we knew it wouldn't be possible to make the film identicle tot he book of film time constraints. However, what is left is at least in my opinion an enjoyable film. Funny and action filled.
One of my complaints is how the mines ob Tebezza have been missed out and the desert trek with Pitt and Giordino has been shrunk. But equally annoying is how the start of the film is based around hunting for this the Texas ironclad which didn't become a big part of the book till much further along the story line.
Hope this film does enough to secure more films. Maybe the writers will stick more to the other books and just shed some of the less important areas. Hell make a longer film if thats what it takes to do Clive and his books justice.

What did you think to the actors? Think they pulled it off?
