Title: Is the Trojan Odyssey the End?
Description: Don't read, unless you finished the book

I just finished the Trojan Odyssey, and I'm worried that the days of Dirk Pitt are numbered.

I enjoyed the book immensely, but Dirk stuck behind a desk and Al directing the department on marine engineering, just doesn't sit well ;)

I guess I could except that faith if I know Clive Cussler would continue his writing. But, I'm worried he is trying to slip out of the book writing gig.

To be honest, I haven't read any of the Paul Kemprecos or Craig Dirgo books. My loyalty has been to Dirk Pitt and to pull my mind into another Adventurers role.

Does Dirk Pitt end his Adventure? snor:

Can Kurt Austin fill his shoes? :ph43r:

Will Clive Cussler continue the legendary writing, maybe the Dirk's children will follow in their father's foot steps? b:

This isn't Dirk Pitt's "last adventure."

Though, in a way, it's the last book he ever will play a large role in. Kurt Austin won't be expected to fill his shoes, since he is part of another book series. Clive is currently handing the writing responsibility over to his son, Dirk Cussler. In the most recent book, Black Wind, Dirk Cussler wrote nearly the whole book, which featured Dirk Pitt Jr. and his sister, Summer. Ultimatley in the end, it is up to Dirk Sr. and Al to save the day (that part Clive wrote).

Hope that helped!! p:

I believe that Dirk Cussler is working on the next Dirk Jr. Novel as we speak.

Great!!!

Pewww, I thought the Clive had thrown in the towel!!!

Have you read Black Wind, is it good?

Have you read any of the Kurt Austin adventures, are they worth it?

I can't say that Black Wind is one of Cussler's best, but it sure has its moments!

As for the Kurt Austin Adventures, I recently read White Death and enjoyed it. Just don't expect it to be better than a Pitt novel!! t:

Thanks!!!

Maybe as Cussler Jr. matures in his writing it will get better (CC will need to be less involved) - with that said - as Dirk and Summer learn "Master Explorer lessons" the need for Daddy and Al to come in to "Save the Day" will be a thing in CC Jr.'s past! para:
