Michael Shriver asked me to update everyone on the latest regarding the upcoming Literary Idol writing contest. There is a lot of news to share as the deadline is racing towards us. Here's what you need to know:

Michael says a new & improved web-host is forthcoming - hopefully one that
will address anticipated band-width issues. More news to come next month.
2) The due date for all submittals is no later than 11:59 PM EST on May 30, 2005
3) There are two categories: a) Completed stories >10K words and B) uncompleted stories < 10K words
4) The addition of 2nd place prizes has been added. Each runner-up will receive an authentic, full-sized, double sided, limited edition, genuine, 100% collectable Sahara movie poster. Thanks to CBarden & others for that great addition.
5) Please visit the current site to read the rules - but one frequently asked question is: Can anyone enter? The only stipulation is the competiton is organized for the benefit of unpublished and amateur writers only.
