Title: Salvage book!!
Description: at your local bookstore!!

I recently took a trip to my local bookstore, Barnes and Noble's. I picked up "Dirk Pitt Revealed" and "Medusa Stone" by Jack DuBrul. As I was standing in the checkout line, something caught my eye: A large book with a reference to the CSS Hunley!!
I turned the pages to find detailed descriptions of the Hunley along with numerous other salvaged vessels. The book had an introduction by Rob Ballard (I think that was his name). I seem to remember him being a friend of Clive's.
Overall, it looked like a great book for all you salvage buffs out there. I reccomend you pick it up!! th: th:

I don't know if Robert Ballard is an actual friend of Clive's or not, but he was the real-life person who found the Titanic, as well as a number of other famous shipwrecks.
Dirk Pitt revealed is one of the only books on my list that I have yet to read or own. I saw a couple of copies on eBay for a little over US$5 but missed my chance when I found out it will take 4 days to get a PayPal account. Curse my lack of eBay experience!

I am relatively new to the Ebay experience too, so I know how frustrating it can be sometimes!!

Geeez people! Why bid against someone when you can order from bookstores online like Barnes & Noble. I have gotten many books from them online and at the bookstore. And for hard to find books there is Powells or the Strand online stores. And if you're into history books there's the history book club. w:

"Dirk Pitt Revealed" is a great reference book for all of Clive Cussler's books up to the point it was wriiten. It also gives a good rundown of Clive's struggle to be the writer he is. Well worth the effort to order. th:

I'll make a point to ask Bob Ballard in October just what he thinks of Clive. Me thinks though there is no love lost, however I am sure there is a certain level of respect for each others work. t: snor:

It is a good book, but it'd be better if they'd release a more up-to-date one.

another up to date version would be great. Maybe Dr. Cussler will read this and consider it. w:

There has to be more insight on his life that he could put in a new book. He's a very interesting person.

Liz you are right. I do not think they are friends at all. It should make for an interesting conversation with Mr Ballard though.. ;) .
Take care

I just know I'll not be able to think of anything intelligent to say to the man. I guess he is speaking and then having a Q&A session followed by autograph time. What do I say?
"Uh hi, I like your books." yike:
I suppose I could wear my NUMA shirt and hat and ask him how he feels about Clive. Could make for a lasting impression!!!

 Liz just tell him about your amazing Titianic collection. You knowledge of it is right up there with his. Of course he's been there. Maybe he will give up a more detailed account of it.
