Title: Dust Jacket Clear Protective Sleeves...
armorine - March 26, 2004 07:56 PM (GMT)
Does anyone know where I can find the best clear plastic sleeves to protect my 1st/1st editions of Cussler's novels? I've seen some online, but wasn't sure if any bookstores carry such things. Any suggestions where is the best place to find these, and/or what brand(s) are the best? Also, is there only one size needed as the HC editions vary from 6 1/4" x 9 1/4" up to 6 3/8" x 9 1/2" in size? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I recommend, and use myself, Brodart.
They can be found here:
Brodart SuppliesYou'll have to navigate thru their website, under the heading:Library Supplies & Furnishings.
Then the screen will come up, where you can choose, US, Canada, or International...
They are excellent to work with, and they DO sell to private individuals.
Cheers,
Dave

I would second Dave's recommendation of Brodart!! They have been great to work with BUT the website is a little difficult to navigate. I've been buying their protective covers by the roll for quite some time, if you've got a lot of books to protect this might be the best way to go. JimO

As a follow up question, what is the best way to protect 1st/1st editions that are either paperbacks or trade paperbacks? Thought I'd check before attempting anything.

Maybe I should get some covers, for both CC books and some 70 yr old books I have.

Good question, Brodart also sells covers for paperbacks, and I highly recommend them, and they do not damage your covers, and protect them as you would want... there is no adhesive, you'll have to get one to understand.... check them out...

GOOD POST. Just what I was looking for to cover and protect my collection. I paid roughly $20 for 50 covers and that's the best money I can think of to protect my investment...Thanks again for the information...Tim
