Title: my new project
Nick Kismet - August 3, 2005 10:18 PM (GMT)
hey all...it seems like fan fiction has been a little slow lately--hopefully because everyone is working on stuff for the Sea Hunters contest, and not because of anything I've said or done yike:
Anyway, this has nothing to do with Cussler or any of his creations, but since I am a fan and it is fiction, I thought I'd inflict it on you. It is an excerpt from my latest book "Falcon's Flight" which will hopefully be the first in a series. The stories are set in "The Golden Age of Adventure"--roughly the 1930's, when characters such as Doc Savage (see the Clive Cussler Code) cavorted on the pages of cheap pulp magazines, and where Commander Cody saved the world in weekly cinematic serials Just as those old serials inspired George Lucas to create Raiders of the Lost Ark, I have been for some time trying to think up a story that would pay homage to Doc Savage and the other adventure heroes of that "Golden Era."
The result is the Dodge Chronicles. Dodge is David "Dodge" Dalton, a sportswriter turned pulp-author, who writes the syndicated "Adventures of Captain Falcon." Naturally, this adventure writer winds up playing adventure hero...
enjoy and let me know what you think.

For some reason our computer is not letting me get your story.

I tried changing it to rtf, but the file was too big to download. I'd do it as inline text, but there's some cool formatting I don't want to lose. PM me if you want it sent as an email attachment

I have been plugging away on my Muroc story. Hope everyone is enjoying it and I would like to invite others to write some fan fiction themselves. It's a lot of fun! w:

Well done, Sean! th: The cover reminds me of those old Biggles books. I'm losing count of how many books you have now. ;)

the cover probably looks a lot rougher up close.
officially I count this as my seventh completed novel (inlcuding TC3, but not The Devil You Know)
Of the seven, two (both are Kismet novels) are currently "on blocks in the front yard" as it were--in need of some repair before I'll consider releasing them, even as a Lulu draft.
The one that I haven't tried to pimp (yet) is the Tomb Raider novel that is being released in a very limited run by a small licensed publisher--that should be out sometime around the first of the year.
So the list is:
Magic Mirror
The Clive Cussler Code
TR: The Second Scion (coming soon)
Falcon's Flight
The Shroud of Heaven
The Argo Destiny (in revision--title may change)
The Unrevealed Heart (in revision--title may change)
Shroud is with my agent right now, as is Falcon's Flight, but I thought I'd put them out there for any curious folks with a few pennies to throw away.
See you all on the book tour (yeah right)
