Title: Freaky Blast from my past

Have any of you ever been sitting there watching TV and suddenly see someone you know who you haven't seen in ages?
I was watching the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams tonite -- for you folks from other countries, its our national news. I was watching the segment about the Walter Reed Army Medical Center being closed and moved. Its the hospital where all our injured soldiers get sent to from Iraq. As I'm watching it they cut to a close up of a patient in a wheel chair who had lost his right leg from the knee down. He apparently was there for therapy as he had a prosthetic leg already. It was my old boyfriend! He was the one who got me hooked on Clive Cussler books! What a shock that was to see him. We had lost touch back in '94 when he got stationed in Hawaii and I broke up with him to date the man who is now my husband. Pretty wild! The book he had given me way back then was "Sahara."

The phrase in Spanish translates literally to "The world is a handkerchief" or something like that. In English: It's a small world.

Wow, what a coinky dink, Jet!!!! I'm watching a fictional story on Days about a young soldier back from Iraq, who will be getting a prosthetic leg. Reminds me of watching the Six million dollar man back in the 70s running at 60 miles an hour and many times in the desert. Back then artificial limbs were just beginning to get media attention. We certainly have come along way in prosthetic tech. :)
