Title: City of Ghosts
Description: Windows on New Orleans
Nick Kismet - September 18, 2005 10:56 PM (GMT)
As some of you know, I recently spent two weeks in New Orleans as part of Joint Task Force Pontchartrain searching houses for survivors of the floods that followed Hurricane Katrina.
I'll have some stories to tell, but first let me show you some of the things I saw. These pictures really do say more than a thousand words.

Fortunately, I didn't see this very often

Such a beautiful City, and now I am just saddened at it all. I was there in April 2002 and had hoped to go back there again someday. It should, hopefully rebuild and have a new life with all it's vivacity again.

Sobering pictures, Sean. Hats off to you and your search and rescue team.

Heartbreaking pictures Sean, Your work is to be commended. The pets left behind is so sad. I can't imagin leaving behind part of the family. The officals should have allowed people to take them. They are living things and look to us to take care of them. Their lives are in our hands and they were let down. It's a sad world we live in. :(
