Title: "missing adventures" anyone?

hey, something that may have been mentioned before, but i haven't seen (i'm a youngin' here!) is the idea of clive - or now dirk - doing 'missing adventures' for pitt and al. these would be new books that take place between previous books - like a new story in between deep six and cyclops. this way, we could revisit pitt and the gang in their prime. it could be a spin-off series while the other three (dirk jr., numa files, oregon files) keep going. maybe they could even do a prequel; something from their air force days, or how they came to work for numa? just thinking...! b:

 I had this idea myself a few weeks back and posted it. It would be cool to see "in between" books of Dirk and Al in their prime. it is the only way to continue the series. Watching them as old guys on adventures would be a stretch. p:

That idea would work for me. Someone needs to convince Clive and Dirk. :)

Some might argue that Flood Tide was the fill in-between book for Shock Wave to Atlantis found. Fill-in-between adventures may be good, but I dont think people would notice without them. ala Flood Tide.

The only problem I find with that idea is a small one...Even in fiction, it's hard to believe that these adventures seemingly happen all the time. You know what I'm saying, If teh between series could offer more of what the cast does while not saving the worl I think would be a great digression, and in my opinion, enhance the heroism of the adventures. Thats just me though. w:

I thought that's what The Sea Hunters I and II are for. :P

You're right, though, some of the books appear in close proximity, although some are a few years apart. I guess I just take it with a grain of salt and figure that the governments save our behinds every day without us even knowing about it. SO many evil villains, though, can be a bit unrealistic, but hey it's what they do. Thanks for posting!

I'm not talking about saving the world from villains but adventure tales where the interplay between Dirk, Al and the rest of the NUMA characters are dealt with on a daily basis, seeing them interact with their ups and downs, even humor and yes, maybe pathos. Put these characters in the situations that their careers demand on them and add some truly harrowing sea tales with all the details of the technology, undersea life, weather and other things added. That is the type of tales needed.

Sounds like a great way for the stories to go Tony.th:
