These guys resemble the real deal ...

In case you hadn't figured it out yet, this is just a little P.R. "inside joke", posted by the other pilots and crew, who think Dirk (ummm Chase) is the living personification of Dirk Pitt.
For those of you who are still on the "outside" of the joke, Clive Cussler (center of photo above) is author of one of the most successful book series in history. His adventure novels star a main character named: Dirk Pitt, and his ever trusted and indestructible childhood friend, Al Giordino.
One of his earlier writings about the exploits of this adventurous duo was the book "Sahara", which is the basis for the new adventure movie (starring Matthew McConaughey - click here) of the same name.
Chase only became a Cussler fan after he had been told a few times that he and the Dirk Pitt character were carbon copies of each other (with the only exception being eye color).
Once, when he and Ralph, in the course of trying to track down a buried Spanish galleon, in a dried up sea bed (location omitted, as they are still searching for the ship), Chase was quietly asked by a local (when they had stopped at a local store in the search area) if they were the real Dirk & Al!
This was too much to take, and Chase exposed himself to the writings of Clive Cussler, and began his love affair with the Dirk Pitt action novels with the reading of, no other than, Sahara.
For those of us who know him well, Chase is Dirk Pitt, and his buddy Ralph Jessop, is Al Giordino. We're sure you Cussler fans can "see" the resemblance, but it's not just the looks!
SO, If you'd like a helicopter ride piloted by our real life Dirk Pitt, then . . . ride the Tiger!
