Title: Weds. on National Geographic
Empress - December 13, 2005 04:03 AM (GMT)
I don't watch hardly any TV but I will sit, eyes glued to the screen, if it's about ships. I noticed that National Geographic Channel has moved the bulk of their programming to Weds. midday so those of us who work days don't stand a chance of seeing them. If you have Tivo, DVR's, or anything that can record programming this is a great line up. Be sure to make a large tub of popcorn! :)
All times are Eastern Standard. For December 14th, 2005
12P Mysteries of the Deep
Sea Hunters: Princess Sophia [TV-G]
1P Mysteries of the Deep

They do like to play with the working folks don't they? I saw the Sinking Of The Kursk. They have had it on before. It was a good show. Not good for the men that were on it, but a good show anyway. I will always keep something to record on.

I think the one they are going to show that sinks on Christmas eve is called The Christmas Tree Ship. I have a sign copy of that book. I got it for Christmas las year. It's By Rochelle Pennington.
It sunk Christmas eve 1912 (again) It was call the Rouse Simons. Parts of the trees were still indentifiable.

I really would have liked to see that special on the Swissair Flight 111 disaster. It happened less than 200 miles from me, and my uncle is a Navy diver who dove the crash site recovering 'bodies". (There wasn't much left. :( )
Since then I've become even more interested in the crash, and have collected a few books/mags on the crash as well.

I won't say that ot was exciting recovering the bodies, but he was lucky to be close enough to have the experience to help the recovery teams.
Not many people can do what he did. My hat's off to him.
Foss Gly - December 18, 2005 07:51 PM (GMT)
Actually, he was in BC at the time of the accident, but his skills are well known and he was immediately reassigned to help in they ways that he could.
My uncle is probably the closest thing to Dirk Pitt in my family, judging by some of the adventures he's had....stung by a scorpion in the middle east, building bridges in Afganastan, he's in Africa now...
Now if they'll just show a replay yet again. All of these look like interesting episodes, especially the Kursk fiasco. And I'm interested in that "Cruise Ship Rescue", too :)

I'll be interested in the cruise ship rescue too. Your very to have an Uncle like that. He can keep you in stories for a long time.
