Title: Cussler is not trash!!!!
Empress - January 18, 2006 10:12 PM (GMT)
I finally went back to work on Tuesday night and a girlfriend and coworker of mine handed me a bag and said she thought I might like these because she knows how much I love Clive Cussler. She said she was throwing some trash away and someone had just thrown a whole box of books away so she went digging through them and found these two. The Treasure is a 1st/1st mint never been read. They are now in their new home surrounded by other Cussler books who just love the new additions.

I have received a few gems myself because of my wife's workplace. She has brought home some books that people did not want or read once and got rid of.

Congrats on the find! Now they can get the care and appreciation they deserve  How could someone throw away a mint 1st edition of any book? As far as I know, you can sell just about any 1st edition on ebay for decent money.

The books I've had on Ebay have sold well which is good because I can buy Cussler books I don't have with the money. I happen to have some Cussler books on Ebay right now. :)

I agree! yike:
But for real that's great Julie. Isn't it nice when you get to benefit from someone not knowing what they have!

Cussler books in the trash? yike: Stupid people. Glad you have them Julie. They are in good company now!

I can't believe someone would to that with any books these days!! Even if you thinks it's crap why don't you look it up and see how much it's worth!?!?! Books NEVER need to be thrown away!! I'm glad you are now taking care of the poor things!

not trash when you consider how much the mint condition of a 1st edition TREASURE is worth.
its like throwing away a winning lottery ticket.
wish someone would throw things like that my way.

speaking of finds i was at a book shop today and under a big pile i came across 10 hardcover cussler books...i found dragon, sahara, raise the titanic {viking} inca gold,treasure,vixen03 {viking}....all first editions hardcovers...the others were newer ones but the owner said for 20 bucks i can take tem all....i have all of the books in paperback and was trying to make a set of first edition hardcovers..so this was a real score for the colection..nice thing is almost all of the dust jackets are in great condition..

WHOA and WOW to the wonderful finds by Julie and quetico1! Once again the saying proves the benefit of being a Cussler fan: One person's trash yike: is another person's treasure. Happy for your great finds! th:

That's awesome. I've gotten many books lately from amazon and they've been in pretty good shape too. I buy double in case one's not up to my standards. But I did get a really good one from Barnes and Noble the other day for like $5.
