This is so cool, can anyone make it there??

January 12: Cunard have announced that the long-imagined photo op, a meeting of the QUEENs, will actually occur on February 22, 2006. The QUEEN MARY 2 and her namesake, the original QUEEN MARY (now permanently moored at Long Beach, CA) will "meet" twice on Wednesday, February 22 at 7:00 am and again at 5:00 pm as QUEEN MARY 2 sails through outer Long Beach harbor, sounding her whistle (which once belonged to the original QUEEN MARY, herself). The QUEEN MARY 2 will complete her 38-day South America Odyssey cruise with a maiden call at the port of Los Angeles, which is adjacent to the port of Long Beach.

It's not too late to get that pic. Notice that the original press release says that the Queens are to meet on Wednesday, February 22... still more than three weeks from today.

I'm in Redondo Beach and may try to get down there and see it for myself (maybe I'll even get a picture).
