Sharks spotted in outback river

SHARKS have been spotted on a flooded rural property in outback Queensland.
Heavy rains from Cyclone Larry last week caused the Leichhardt River to burst its banks, isolating several stations in the region.
Kylie Camp, of Floraville Station near Burketown in the Gulf of Carpentaria, said the rain had flushed the unwelcome visitors from coastal areas to the river, which runs through her property.
"I've never seen so many snakes in my life and also some sharks as well," she said on ABC radio today.
"We do see sharks sometimes below the waterfalls that are normally here.
"They're probably just trying to move out of the fast moving current into somewhere quieter."

The weather bureau today issued warnings for the Leichhardt, Lower Norman and Lower Flinders Rivers.
Leichhardt River at Floraville was 9.57m high at 8.20am (AEST).
Allan Webber from Nardoo Station surveyed his property by helicopter.
"I've been here all my life – 1964 was the record and this flood has surpassed 1964," he said.
"It's about six inches (15cm) higher here at the station and it's been very widespread.
"It's basically gone over the banks of the Leichhardt eastern side and western side and it's a massive flood."

It ididn't say what they were but I reckon they would have been Bulls or Bronze Whalers, probably Bulls due to their liking of fresher water.
Cheers beer:
