Title: Really Cool ARC

Empress - March 31, 2006 04:34 AM (GMT)
I picked this little baby up today at my used bookstore for $8.00. It's an ARC of Charon's Landing by Jack Du Brul. I took a picture of the front so you can see why I like it so much!

WOW what a find. Great for your collection.
I recieved my signed copy of Vin Fiz today that was sent over from America and was suprised to find they had included a copy of the invitation and program from the luncheon honoring Clive from the 5th of March. This is fantastic for my collection as i will never be able to attend such events over there. t:

Great Find.

A question from a ARC newb or noob.....

How would I know if I had an ARC in my hand ? Does it actually say ARC on the front cover ?

Empress - April 2, 2006 10:52 PM (GMT)
It will say Advanced Reading Copy or Uncorrected Proof, Not for sale, all that fun stuff. There is a thread in this book section that explains all about ARC's

Julie is the queen at finding ARC's. Thanks for bringing me into the cc arc club. w:

It's still here. Dave added to the ARC thread that Liz started, it's on page 2 :)

Here is the thread Julie was referring to. Dave (Cusslermen) posted a lot of good info on the second page of the thread.

It wouldn't let me just paste the website so you get this meaningless sentence to click on instead

Good luck!

Actually that's a different one to the one I was thinking of, but at least the one Julie is thinking of can still be found and people now know where to look th:

Erik it should let you, when you copy and paste in the first box for the link, just do the same in the box for the title - like this: http://s4.invisionfree.com/CLIVE_CUSSLER/i...topic=1634&st=0 Fingers crossed it works for you!!!

oswalder - April 3, 2006 04:10 PM (GMT)
I tried that, but see how it has the "i...topic" in the middle? That means it took out some of the address so if you copy and paste it into the address bar it won't work. My computer refuses to open new windows so I have to copy and paste any link that results in a new window. Therefore, I can't click on any link and because the right mouse button is disabled I have to highlight and hit ctrl+V. If what I'm highlighting isn't the exact link, it won't work. I'm making it work, but it's a huge pain in the you know where and I just haven't called Microsoft to see what is wrong with my registry that makes it so Internet Explorer won't initialize.

Anyway, even just pasting the link into my post (and not using the http:// button) wouldn't work. Ah well...

Thanks Kel!
