Title: Warrenton in "Black Wind"
Description: hold on just one minute...

Hey I live in the Astoria Warrenton area and you don't know how excited I was when Dirk Pitt Jr. visited my area!! That was just sooo cool. But I drive the Astoria-Megler Bridge every day and there is no sign that says Warrenton 8 miles. Has Clive Cussler been to this area or is he just making it up? Does anybody know?

Since Dirk wrote the book - chances are he was the one who visited Warrenton and may have utilized some "artistic-license" in structuring the sequence. Many times authors use the memory of the past to paint their canvasses - I wonder if Dirk and his Dad were on a family outing and back then there was a sign?

By the way - welcome to the board!!

Hey Suraiya,
I'm in the Oregon Guard and often train at Rilea (or did until recently) so I go through Warrenton all the time.
I wouldn't worry too much about the sign--compared to some of the artistic license used in Cussler's books, this seems pretty mild.
