can anybody tell me if i need to read the kurt austin books in order, if i do can you tell me the order

It isn't techniquely necessary for the storylines in general. They can stand on their own, but I would read them in order (and did in my case). You see the character's develop over time. The order is:
Serpent
Blue Gold
Fire Ice
White Death
Lost City
Polar Shift
