tiburonjjay - May 18, 2006 07:57 PM (GMT)
Ok so I haven't been on in quite a while, school makes me read to much for Clive...I know its a crime to say, but true nevertheless. So help me out with this question and tell me why you feel the way you do...Who is your favorite villain in any series of Clive's books and why????

gamaytrout103 - May 18, 2006 10:47 PM (GMT)
That is a good question. You didn't give us yours. Let's see... a toss up between the evil Dorsetts and Yves Massarde. They are just so evil, and there deaths were so fitting. You have to love to hate them.

Not many can touch the craziness of Foss Gly. p:

I haven't read much Cussler (about eight at the moment), but given what I have read, I'm going to have to say either Foss Gly or the guy from Flood Tide. What was his name? I want to say Quin Shang, but that may not be right. Anyway, as for reasons...

Foss Gly: He wasn't especially crafty or evil in a megalomaniacal way, but I loved his brutish, comic-book behaviour, and his final Cyclops battle with Dirk Pitt was great for the sheer amount of destruction and violence involved.

Flood Tide guy: A devious plan, insatiable greed, plus dumping illegal immigrants into Orion Lake bound and gagged seems to me to warrant a top spot on the list.

Well....It would be Brian Shaw, but since he was actually a good guy...ummm...Either Tupak Amaru, Foss Gly, or The Dorsett's. Yeah, I can't decide.

I loved the final fight scene between Giordino and Boudicca Dorsett, and I'd have to say my LEAST favorite bad guys were the Wolf's. As for my favorite baddies I give props to the guy from Med Caper for throwing Dirk into the labrynth and thus creating one of my all-time favorite scenes, and also the guy from Iceberg for being rather twisted and sadistic. I'm packing up my apartment in anticipation for moving out in two weeks, so I already sent my CC books home. Otherwise I'd have names for you, but you get the idea. Good question!

loren1 - May 19, 2006 01:59 PM (GMT)
I'd have to say the Dorsett's. There are so many bad guys that are really good but the discription of old man Dorsett can give anyone nightmares.

tiburonjjay - May 19, 2006 09:00 PM (GMT)
Well since I didn't give my answer I will now. I have two favorites...one form the Austin series and one from the Pitt series.

Austin: The entire Fauchard family....those damned devious Frenchmen...=) Their plan for world domination was just so complete that you know if it were anyone but Austin(Pitt) trying to stop them there would be no chance.

Pitt:I'm gonna have to go with Tupak Amaru on this one....was a toss up between him and Mesarde. Amaru is one of the only ones to put a serious life threatening hurt on Pitt....I know there have been other instances where he has been beat up and left for dead, but not with the ferocityin which Amaru pursued him.

Oh I don't know, when it comes to Dirk's health, the Dorsett's were pretty ruthless. I think every family member(accept Maeve, of course) worked Dirk over pretty good, especially at the end when Deidre shoots him twice. yike:

But you're right, Tupak's obsession to kill Dirk was ferocious, which is why he is in my top 2 of baddies.

gamaytrout103 - May 19, 2006 11:55 PM (GMT)
I didn't even think to include the NUMA Files books! yike: Shame on me neglecting them! I agree the Fauchards were great and Dr. Barker from White Death.

Mostly Heep - May 20, 2006 05:49 AM (GMT)
Bruno Von Till was pretty bad
Min Koryo Bougainville as well

Those are my 2 with the Dorsetts a close third

tiburonjjay - May 20, 2006 02:44 PM (GMT)
Yea Gamay....everyone should remember that Clive has three different book series'. Although, there are no real bad villains in the regon files series. Make sure you include Pitt and Austin....cause we all know that there were some pretty morbid people in both.

notgudwithids - July 8, 2006 01:42 AM (GMT)
Racine Fauchard gets my vote

 just something about those older women

MrKABC - November 20, 2006 08:23 AM (GMT)
Min Koryo Bougainville didn't do much... she was in a wheelchair.

Now Lee Tong on the other hand was a bad a**...

No one mentions poor Darius... he doesn't rate anymore?

My personal favorite is General Velikov of the Soviet Army. He was ruthless, intelligent, and motivated. I always hoped I'd see more of him in another book.

Has to be Delphi
Don't forget if it wasn't for his pull over Summer she would not have gone back and our hero would've been one happy guy..

One of us has to think of our heros sorrow!!!!

And it has always been my fav book.

Stefano DiMera Days of our Lives), Miguelito Loveless (Wild, Wild West), Carl Hutchins (Another World), Blofeld, Auric Goldfinger are definitely tops in Bad Guys. p:

Sandecker Fan - December 10, 2006 03:44 AM (GMT)
I have to go with the Dorsett's. Just a pure evil exudes from that family except for Maeve Fletcher.

Infernorhythm - December 10, 2006 04:39 AM (GMT)
Oh, toughy. I'd have to say Massarde or Azziz from Sahara and Treasure respectively.
