I know there's a book where Dirk and Al discuss what they wanted written on their grave stones. Does anyone remember what book that was...or better yet, what they said they wanted???

"Dirk Pitt Revealed" is the title of a funny and informative book by Clive Cussler. It may be in that book, Heather. w:

Never mind, I found it. It's in Trojan Odyssey, (pg.197 paperback) while Dirk and Al are on late night watch, and Dirk has just told Al he's thinking about retiring and marrying Loren. Then, further in the conversation, Dirk asks Al what he would want written on his tombstone, and he says, "It was a great party while it lasted. I trust it will continue elsewhere."
Dirk doesn't say what he would want, because he's interrupted.
