Hello All
It has been sometime since I was last inside here and I feel guilty at allowing other commitments to overcome my web browsing etc.
I thought I would drop in and update you on the start of this years expedition to locate the remains of the
"Bonhomme Richard" (BHR). Once again Dr. Cussler has engaged the charter vessel "Ocean Dancer" and it was pleasing to see it make port last week.
My last e-mail from Clive indicate he was using Whitby again but at that point he was unsure if and when he might make an appearance himself. He has however, indicated that he is once again looking forward to our reunion after missing last years expedition. The vessel put to sea on Friday and I would expect it back towards the weekend / early next week.
I reallay hope that this year he and his time can pull it off after everything he has put into the search for the BHR. One concerning thing is that he has competition this year in the form of another US led team. Sadly one of his team (Peter Reverly ) chose to defect and to the other side and one can only guess at what data he has taken with him.
Although well financed this new team have no greater chance as it is not as though Clive has not expended a lot of time and expense himself. My own diving days are behind me and even on ebay one cannot get hold of enough to Semtex to throw the other side off. Joking aside it would be a cruel a blow if this new team were to find it
Anyway I will keep the forum updated of any news that comes my way th:
Best Wishes
