Title: Dirk Pitt Travel Agency
Description: What's exotic location would you want?
Ian Kharitonov - April 27, 2004 06:02 PM (GMT)
Dirk and Al have travelled the world over the years, -- from Greece and Nicaragua to Russia and Australia, -- but which countries would you want them to visit? What dazzling locations they never set foot on, but which they simply can't miss?
b:
I'd really love to see some South-East Asian countries. Burma seems to be perfect -- lush teak jungles, gold & rubies, potential insidious plots, and mysteries galore -- Japanese WW2 treasures and Buddhist artifacts! Toss in seafaring goodness, the infamous Golden Triangle drug net and boy, do we have a perfect recipe for a DP adventure! p:
How's that for an example?
Let your mind roam and post your mouth-watering travel tours here! t:

Saudi Arabia, China, Nepal, Turkey, Madagascar (get saved by a lemur.......)
DirkPitt - April 28, 2004 09:18 AM (GMT)
How about Papua New Guinea ?In one scene, Dirk Pitt Jr. could surface in the wrong place at the wrong time and it'd be up to Dirk and Al to rescue him in time from the vicious cannibals.
hiramyaegar - April 28, 2004 09:01 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I can see that happening. Al would probably come close to being eaten by cannibals, and then would moan, saying something about how Mrs. Giordino's boy was never meant to be somebody's dinner.

MrKABC - May 2, 2004 01:38 AM (GMT)
I think that DP needs to go to China. He has never actually been on the mainland in any of the books, other than Hong Kong (to check out the United States.)

I think Dirk Pitt has the best idea:
"I've yet to search the Brazilian jungles for the golden city of El Dorado."
Reminds me of the the explorer - Fawcett - lost in Brazil ... ;)
OkieMan - January 26, 2005 12:59 PM (GMT)
Hmmm ... El Dorado was the most recent post of mine on the mythical places thread ... maybe you, me, dirk, dirk, and clive know something the others don't ...

India sounds good to me-as long as he does NOT eat anything out of the head of a monkey!!! That is just sick.
What about Viet Nam-something left over from the police action we had there or from the earlier French political nightmare.
tonym5 - January 30, 2005 12:15 AM (GMT)
How about a midwest town where the ancient inland sea used to be. Somebody could find something of historical significance left over from that ancient inland sea. Or an earthquake in the Bering Sea that would raise the old land bridge connecting Asia and America and something found in the aftermath of that. Easter Island where Dirk or Kurt could find that the statues that were built by aliens or an ancient family that still exists and haunting the Pacific commercial shipping lanes. p:
