Title: The art of Airman
Description: Some works that I've got
Airman - September 19, 2006 01:28 AM (GMT)
Now then, I've got nothing Cussler related
at this time. However, as a couple of you already know, I'm working on one. The reason I've created this topic is to give you guys a sample of what to expect in about a week or two I'd estimate. Maybe less if we're lucky. Anyhow, here's a brief sampler of some of the work I've done in the past.
A dragon sketch made in May of 2006

An anime sketch made in I think March of 06

An Anthropomorphic sketch of Princess sally from the Sonic The Hedgehog comics. Skethed sometime in 2005

Once again, I appologize for not having cussler related right now, but I'm going to go get back to work on it after I click the post button and check up on a couple of things.
P.S. if the forum administration are in disaproval of this sampler as the artwork is not cussler related, simply let me know and I'll remove it.

I can't speak for the rest of the admin, but I like the pics. Makes me look forward to your Cussler ones. Good luck!

If you want more samples, click the two links in my sig, in the mean time, I've got a basic form down for "Old Gert" but other than that, I'm kind of flying blind here so to speak.

Oh great scott, I'm terribly sorry, I'm over a week behind schedule. Many appologies, some due dates at school came up and everything else I'd been working on got pushed to the back burner.
oswalder - October 10, 2006 03:16 AM (GMT)
No problem, as long as they're good they'll be worth the wait.

My sincere appologies, what am I, two months late now? I'm almost done, expect it in a few more hours, and if you ask me, it look like crap.

Just gotta finish shading, and then hit it with the blending stump. Then I'll get it scanned in upload it to deviantART, and hotlink it here.
Uploading is realy slow, I guess that's what I get for working via USB
Sheezyart took it no problem, deviantart is running wicked slow. But alas, here it is.

If you ask me, the overall design is incorrect. I didn't read the description closely enough the first time and the orbs on the sub are in the wrong places and in the wrong configuration. See also, I used sillhouettes for Salazar, Stacy, and Plunket. The control panel in the crew area could be better, the cameras need improvement, the oxygen tanks and battery orb could use some work and the propulsion area could definitely use a lot more detail. The little orbs that are off to the side are the manganese orbs on the bottom of the sea around "Soggy Acres."

For all the improvements you reckon it needs, you've done well to draw that from a description in a book!
Hanging for more from the pages of CC!

Camping trip in March a couple years ago. Ahh good times. Me and a buddy of mine set up our tent farther out than the rest of the crew. Far enough that we needed a seperate fire. Anyhow, the supervisors for the trip told us that when they were standing next to The fire for the rest of the crew they looked down at ours and noticed that ours was brighter. They get down there and find that our campfire is averaging between 4 and 6 feet tall, and quite under control. The size of the fire may be attributable to the fact that my buddy and I had discovered an almost inexhaustible supply of hedge wood. Which not only made the fire big, but nice and warm. Hot enough to melt a pop can.

I would like to know how you guys found that little fact out. Then again, maybe not.
Airman - May 23, 2007 03:55 PM (GMT)
There's not much to how we found out. Empty pop can, handy fire, toss it in and see what happens. The can was gone in about an hour.

while scouting we had several interesting camp fires, the oddest was one wich a scout made a fire pit out of river rocks.
It looked great......until the fire got so hot that one of the river rocks exploded! luckly no one was hit, but a tree caught a piece of it.
tip: rocks that have spent years in water are not good for fire pits! cop:
