Title: What to expect
coach2709 - October 2, 2006 04:14 AM (GMT)
I have been reading Clive Cussler and Dirk Pitt for about a year now. I have completed the first six books (Pacific Vortex to Night Probe) and I am now starting to read his other heroes - Juan Cabrillo and Kurt Austin.
I was wondering what to expect from these characters and how they compare to Pitt.
Thanks for the information.

Welcome Coach! Bear in mind this is only one man's humble opionion.'
Cabrillo is completly differnt. He leds agroup of people and uses his team often. He also has a fake leg that plays into the stories very well.
Austin started out very similar to Pitt. However, over the last few books, Austin has developed more. For staters, Austin is more high tec (he uses computers and more technology). If you like Pitt you will like Austin.

Honestly, everyone has their own opinions and the best advise I can give you is to read a few and make your own decision. I can tell you my opinions, but that won't tell you if you'll like them. Enjoy th:

Thanks for the replies and information. So far I have started on Dark Watch and Cabrillo's leg has already been used. It's the part where the bad guy smashed it into a metal railing and said it should have snapped.
I was like whoa how did that happen. Then it described when he was back on the Oregon how he had to replace it. That floored me - you never see the hero without all of their limbs.
Great surprise.
Thanks again.

you can always expect a good read if you immerse yourself in a Dr C book :)

That's also why I read them. You never quite know what to expect

Cabrillo has grown into one of my favorite people. With or without all his limbs. He's one smart person. th:

I like the fake leg. It adds sense of supernatuality (is that a word) to the story. Is is a nice touch.

I love the way he hides weapons in it.
