Folks, be warned that the Finnish edition is ABRIDGED "as per Danish edition". I am corrently comparing the Finnish and American editions. I am just starting it but e.g. the first 15 or so pages describing the CSN ironclad has been completely deleted from the Finnish edition. I will be sending the Finnish publisher a sternly worded note on their unacceptable actions!

They took out the prologue?? I can see paring down a few lines from lengthy dialogue or wordy descriptive paragraphs, but a whole section (particularly one as important and interesting as that)?

Is this a common occurance?

I wonder if Pete(Sapper) has the same edition and could check his to see which of his Finnish Editions are complete.

Both the Finnish hardback and the mass market paperback have the same deletions. As far as I know, this has been the only CC book to be abridged here. Though it should be mentioned that only one CC/Kemprecos title has been translated while none of the CC/Dirgo books are available in Finnish.
