Title: Dirk/Clive's New Book
Description: You heard it here first.....
NUMA_Diver - May 16, 2004 12:44 AM (GMT)
Okay folks I am letting the cat out of the bag...so to speak. I have been informed by a "good" source....someone within "the" circle, that the new Dirk Pitt book, which has been mostly written by Dirk Cussler, is named "Black Wind" . I have also been told that Dirk has really caught the flavor of the Pitt books, so the series will go on. I am not revealing my source, so please don't ask. I did not ask what the book was about, but as soon as I find out I will let you all know.
Take care
Mike

golferreino2002 - May 16, 2004 11:03 PM (GMT)
Ah yes thank you Foss Gly. I'm reading a book right now that focuses on you. Night Probe it's starts off slower than most dirk pitt books. Wouldn't you say.
Foss Gly - May 16, 2004 11:16 PM (GMT)
It does, but it's a great adventure with quite a few twists, turns and surprises. You'll like it.
tonym5 - May 17, 2004 12:09 AM (GMT)

Butch 179 - May 17, 2004 12:53 AM (GMT)
Sounds great, I only hope he's a chip off the old block.
Now, may I ask if this is Dirk Sr. or Dirk Jr. in this story, or both???
Nic0demus - May 17, 2004 03:08 AM (GMT)
I assume it will be both...can't have one good book solely based on Dirk Jr.
CassandraLee - May 17, 2004 09:09 PM (GMT)
That's so cool! i can't wait till it comes out hopefully i'll have money to buy it! (i'm a poor college student...i don't even know how i'm paying for school the next 4 years...oh well i'll find a way!) Can't wait for the movie either!!

Well from the way TO ended, it should be dirk sr. at the helm of NUMA dying to get on the water with loren pulling him back in the bed, and dirk jr. and summer getting in trouble and asking dad and Al to come save them. Dirk Jr. did not show a whole lot of his dad's "101 ways to get out of a sticky situation" brain. So maybe that will develop and dirk sr. will be good as the boss.

GREAT NEWS thaks for the information. Let's hope that the talent is in the genes. Now the question arises what will happen now. Please keep the information coming.
Mandasy123 - May 24, 2004 01:07 AM (GMT)
Hey who's your source?(kidding)
This is and isn't good news for me. I keep buying books but I only read like one every two months and I haven't even read or bought TO yet but I know that I will go buy the new one and when I do I'll buy like 3 or 4 books with it. I probably won''t even finsh Sahara (next book to read) by then. I have a stack of 7 or 8 books in my room I have left to read. I'll be done with those and more by the time 2004-2005 school year comes around (I hope)
    w:
DirkPitt007 - May 31, 2004 01:26 AM (GMT)
You Just made my day :)
I hope it still revolves around Dirk Pitt and not the son. I think that with Clive helping his son we will still be getting great Dirk Pitt novels in the future. Most series usually have continuation authors who try to make the character there own. I feel that if his son does it, he will continue in the same style.
Joe Rogan - June 8, 2004 03:48 PM (GMT)
I don't envy Junior the task ahead of him, those are some mighty big shoes to fill,
I'll definately pick up the first copy and read it in one sitting when it comes out though.
Rogan OUT!

That really is wonderful news!!!!

"Black Wind" has a tentative release date of November/December 2004. Clive and Dirk Cussler will both tour about this time to promote the new book.
Irishlass - July 1, 2004 04:19 PM (GMT)
I still haven't read Trogan Oddsey (not spelt right?). My dad is twirling his thumbs when it comes to buying it for me.
For those who have read it, is it good? I mean, since he added the kids Dirk Jr. and Summer in. Does it still have the Dirk Pitt flair?
Nancy Blevins - July 20, 2004 02:51 PM (GMT)
I Don't get on here pften, so I'm late with a reply to the info.

Irishlass, TO is a good book, and a tear jerker for most!! I'd say it still has all the Dirk Pitt flair it needs to have to make a great book!!! th:

Hello all
I hope you do not find my first post here out of place as I am relatively new to this website.
I had the good fortune to speak to Dirk Cussler this morning before he leaves the UK tomorrow. I asked about his new forthcoming book and although he did not like to divulge anything he commented that he hopes he can do the Clive Cussler 'series' justice.
I said that if he has only a fraction of his fathers talent he should do well. He is hoping to carry on the many traditions we expect from the books and has promised that "Dirk Pitt" will still figure in the books, although not as a main character he will still make cameo appearances!
Best wishes to all

Thanks for posting that story, whitbycolin
I'm relieved that Dirk Pitt Sr. won't be out of the picture entirely. Hopefully he'll make those cameo appearances more often than not.
Cheers ... p:

I am hoping Dirk Sr will get the send off he deserves; A heros death! Than Dirk Cussler can continue writing about Dork Jr (Pun intended) and I can leave the series at that, especially if i dont like DC's writing. But heres to hoping I do! beer:
