Okay heres the question, posted a little game in one of the other topics sections and it became apparent that UK / US books are the same but with different Names.
Now I know Dirk will have all the answers so here goes.
1. Why do they have different names?
2. How many are their and what are they?
3. Who has all the copy's or what ones are you missing?

Just thought I'd ask

I know there are title names for Cussler books that were not used. I'll see if anyone here knows the original names for the following books ;

Night Probe

Vixen 03

Pacific Vortex

As far as The Mediterranean Caper/Mayday, the original title for the book was Mayday, but only the UK went with that name. For promotion reasons, the title The Mediterranean Caper was chosen for the US market.

I'll answer Night Probe for you. There were actually 2 working titles Intrigue and Doodlebug. Doodlebug stuck and became the intro to part 2 of the book!

As for PV, there were 4 working titles, 3 US and 1 UK. The UK would be Hawaiian Vortex and the 3 US versions, The Sea Dwellers, then renamed Rape of the Sea Dwellers and finally Rape of the Perverted Sea Dwellers. :blink:
