Title: Clive Cussler Book Club?
Description: Is there one?

K Gilmour - May 17, 2004 12:08 AM (GMT)
I have seen "Book Club Editions" of CC's books for sale.

I am trying to collect all his books in Hardcover, and a CC Book Club would suit my needs perfectly?

Is there one? Anyone?

I know you might think that if there were such I thing, that I could Google it, but I recently found a First Edition replica book club for Ian Fleming's Bond books, and discovered that they had no web-presence at all.

I am hoping there might be a similar club for the might Dirk Pitt!

If there isn't, who can we suggest the idea to? (Dirk Cussler?)

Thanks.

There is no official "Cussler Book Club" in the sense that you are referring to it.

The "book club editions" are sold thru normal book club outlets... while many of us avid Cussler Collectors also collect the "book club editions" they are not as valuable as the regular first edition - trade editions.

Cheers,
Dave

That would be kinda cool to start one. Actually, that gave me an idea. On a forum I used to be on, the costs of running the site got so high for the admin, that he started a VIP club. People donated money and in return, got a password to a private forum.

Dave, isn't your Society of the Cusslermen kinda similar to a book club?

When I think of "book club" I think of the book club editions of the books, like you would purchase from a site like this:

Doubleday Book Club

The Cusslermen Club is geared more towards fans of one author, Clive Cussler.

Here is a link: Cusslermen

The site has been developed for Clive Cussler book collectors who require pictures, details and information of every book published throughout the US and UK. And more recently in the member pages we've included pictures of the books in many foreign languages, such as: Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish.

I and other members of the site have extensive collections of books by author Clive Cussler. The majority of the Cusslermen website is free for anyone to enjoy. We have approximately 100 paid members, and nearly 800 subscribers to our free newsletter.

Cheers,
Dave
